Our Leadership

Rev. Elizabeth Forrest
Reverend Elizabeth Forrest has spread the Unity message her whole life--even while growing up as a Baptist! We have loved her spiritual leadership at Unity of Winston-Salem since 1995! Her strong faith, compassionate heart and unconditional love for everyone shows how she "walks the talk" with living the Unity principles on a daily basis. Most people are drawn to Elizabeth's genuine integrity, compassion and positive enthusiasm.

Elizabeth has proven herself to be a woman of God, overflowing with Christ's love and allowing the Holy Spirit to work through her. She is filled with the spirit of love and light and generously gives of her energy and time to each individual who comes through the door. She believes that the growth of the Unity Church of Winston-Salem is since "We Honor the Divinity in All."

Rev. Forrest is happily married to Tony Forrest and enjoys spending time with her son and grand-children as much as possible.

She is available for private conference by appointment. Please call the church office at (336) 760-8300 to schedule an appointment.
Unity of Winston-Salem has been on Stratford Road since 1997. It's a place where people come together and you usually hear someone say, "I've been looking for this my whole life." It's a place where people from different backgrounds, races and creeds come together and worship without judgement.
How can this be? Protestants, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Native Americans, Hindus, and Buddhists come in and take a look. At the podium you will see a table covered with a white cloth. On this cloth is a lovely gold emblem. If you are a Christian, you may see it as a very beautiful yet unusual cross. If you are a Jew, your eyes my see the lovely Jewish star. As you read the words that surround the symbols you realize it says, "One God ~ Many Paths" or is it "Many Paths ~ One God"? Then you look again and see that the symbol is a unique design of all seven major religions. All are represented in one.
Unity Winston Salem is a place where you can love God and love each other without judgement. It's a place where the ways of division that have been engrained in our hearts and minds can begin to fall away. It's a place where you come to recognize our sameness, not our differences. Most of us are looking for a closer connection with our Creator, whichever path we choose to take.
At first glance, it may seem like any other church. There are songs and Bible readings. Then you realize the lesson was designed just for you. Questions you've been asking most of your life are being answered. There is a sweet spirit that seems to enfold you and gently touch your heart. Often tears begin to flow from the eyes of a newcomer as well as those who have been there for years. "I am home" we hear so many say. "I am home. I've found what I've been looking for - a place of love."
How can this be? Unity is a Christian organization, yet the goal is not to try to indoctrinate or tell anyone what he or she should or should not do. No one tries to tell anyone that his or her belief is wrong.
Led by the Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, Unity came about when people from all faiths came together over 130 years ago. They wanted to understand the deeper teachings of Jesus Christ. By studying and practicing his teachings in everyday life, they became the best Protestant, Catholic, Jew, Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist they could be.
The bottom line is we are all children of the same God. We chose to come together as one family, respecting each other no matter what our differences may be. We come to recognize all we need to get along in this world is LOVE...for God is LOVE and So it is.
If you're looking for our church and can't seem to find it because you've been looking for a building with a tall steeple, you'll still not find it. Some say it looks more like a restaurant than a church! Come and experience some of the best "Soul Food" around. Come and experience Oneness of life...Enjoy the secrets of God. Discover Unity. It's on Stratford Road, 108 Hewes Street, on the way to Clemmons, one mile past Hanes Mall Blvd on the right.
